Welcome Back to the 2024-2025 School Year!
We look forward to seeing our students soon and are preparing for a wonderful school year for your children.
Please see the dates below for the start of school including Open House and Student Led Conferences as well
as your child’s teacher assignment on the back of this page.
Open House includes a meet the teacher opportunity for students as well as parents. Included below is a
schedule for open house, in addition to meeting your child’s teacher, we will also have the following opportunities
available that night:
• Enjoy family friendly refreshments in the cafeteria
• Learning Center activities for students and parents in the gym 5:30 – 7:30
• Parent volunteer training and Watch Dog materials available
• Have your ID scanned for the school parent sign in and student pick up system
• Access a computer to submit your child nutrition information and/or fill out the new student information
form (WVEIS) which is now online
• Meet with the nurse to drop off any medications or paperwork
• Visit with the school counselor or outreach facilitator if your child or family needs support
August 14
th -- Open House 5:30-7:30
• Refreshments in the Cafeteria and Learning Activities in the Gym
• 3 Classroom Sessions so you can move about and see multiple teachers
o Session 1 5:30 – 6:00
o Session 2 6:10 – 6:40
o Session 3 6:50 – 7:20
August 20
nd -- First Day of School for Kindergarten – Grade 5
August 21
st -- First Day of School for Pre-K Students
Please remember that good school attendance is very important for your child’s life-long success, it is an
important habit everyone carries with them into adulthood and the workplace. All classrooms start their day at
8:55 with a morning meeting where teachers are delivering lessons to build student success skills, so it is
especially important that students are on time for school and ready to learn.
School Instructional Day: 8:55 – 3:40
Car Rider Drop Off Begins at 8:40
Buses Unload 8:40 (All students should arrive by 8:40)
Breakfast is 8:40 – 8:55
Car Rider Pick Up Begins at 3:40
Bus Dismissal is 3:40
Your scheduled visitation for Student Led Conferences on either September 26 or October 10th in Grades K-5
is enclosed in this letter. It is very important to your children for them to have someone bring them so they
can share their goals and successes with their family. Please arrange for someone to bring them to this event.

Our 2024 Big Family Book Club book is “Dragons in a Bag” by Zetta Elliott! Mark your calendars, registration for the Big Family Book Club opens on Monday, June 17th — you will be able to register in person at the library, over the phone, or through our online registration form. All registered participants will receive postcards in the mail with activities and discussion questions to guide you as you progress through the book and a FREE copy of the book. (Books will be available for pick up on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.) Please note that you must pick up the book in person at your home library — we do not mail out the books.
